Colostrometer measurement

The colostrometer measures the quality of bovine colostrum by specific gravity. You can use this to check colostrum to feed a calf, and also to check milk a couple of days after calving to see when milk is free of colostrum. The coloured scale gives a clear visual indication of good, average or poor colostrum. The colostrum meter is the simple floating type, and you can just float in the bucket. Simply float in the sample and read the scale. The meter should be kept in a protective plastic case.
